Talk therapy: I am a
psychodynamic psychotherapist, which means the work I do with clients encourages exploration and discussion of the full range of their emotions. I assist clients describe and put words to feelings, including contradictory feelings, feelings that are troubling or threatening, and feelings that they may not initially be able to recognize or acknowledge. Psychodynamic psychotherapy not only relieves symptoms but also offers the possibility to have more fulfilling interpersonal relationships, make more effective use of one’s talents and abilities, maintain a realistically based sense of self-esteem, understand yourself and others in more nuanced and sophisticated ways, and face life’s challenges with greater freedom and flexibility. These goals are achieved by engaging in self-reflection, self-exploration, and self-discovery that takes place in the context of a safe and deeply authentic relationship between therapist and client. I also use somatic techniques to help clients reconnect to their body, since many people develop coping skills to shut off physical sensations as a way to protect themselves from painful sensations and feelings. My approach is informed by psychodynamic techniques, liberation psychology, neurobiology, and attachment science.

Anxiety and Depression
Most of the people I see tell me they’re anxious, depressed, or both. I have experience treating symptoms of anxiety and depression with methods ranging from classic cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, and mindfulness techniques. We can collaborate on finding solutions that work specifically for you.

Neurodivergent / ADHD / Highly Sensitive People
I especially love working with folks who feel different—whether because they’re neurodivergent, highly sensitive, or just trying to make sense of a noisy world. I blend CBT, mindfulness, existential philosophy, attachment science and neurobiology to help clients reconnect with their values and feel more like themselves again.

Couples
My approach to working with couples is built on attachment science and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I assist couples in restoring balance, nurturing empathy, developing skills for authentic intimacy, and identifying behaviors that negatively impact their relationships.

Group Therapy
I also offer group counseling using the foundational principles of improvisation and play to reduce isolation, increase spontaneity, promote creativity and encourage being present with yourself and others.

Existential Dread
Our current moment indicates now, maybe more than ever before, people are really going through it. The COVID-19 lockdown, social media toxicity, political chaos, economic insecurity and job loss, gun violence, and so much more. To cope with these feelings, I turn to existential therapy.

Death Doula / End of Life Decisions

Helping the dying and their loved ones navigate grief, loss, and the complexities of death calls for empathy, strength, and compassion. I received certification in End-of-Life Doula training from the University of Vermont so that I can provide emotional, spiritual, and physical support at the end of life for my clients.
